Toyota Yaris is one of subcompact cars of Toyota and have been produced since 1999. Between 1999 and 2005, some markets received the same vehicles under the Toyota Echo name. Toyota has used the "Yaris" and "Echo" names on the export version of several different Japanese-market models.

Toyota Yaris first generation models were produced and marketed in 1999 - 2005 under the "Yaris" and "Echo" names depending on the market. Hatchback, coupe, and sedan body variants were offered.

- Coupe and sedan: versions derive from the Japanese-market Toyota Platz.
